UXPA Portugal is a non-profit professional association and the Portuguese chapter of UXPA International, the User Experience Professionals Association.
We bring together the people who research, design and evaluate the experience of products and services, and we work to create better conditions for UX professionals to grow and thrive in Portugal.
UXPA International has supported UX professionals since 1991. What began as a group of 50 people is today a worldwide community, with nearly 60 local chapters in 30 countries. Its vision is a world where a human-centred approach improves products, systems and services for everyone.
The association also created World Usability Day in 2004, the global celebration of usability that we bring to life every year in Portugal. Through UXPA International, our members can reach the international conference, the Journal of User Experience, User Experience Magazine, webinars, mentorship and a network of peers across the globe.
Portugal has a vibrant and growing UX community, but until recently it had no professional association dedicated to it.
We founded UXPA Portugal to fill that gap: to give UX professionals a local home connected to an international network, and to make the value of user experience visible to companies, organisations and the public sector.
We officially introduced the chapter at World Usability Day 2024, and since then we have focused on listening to the community. Our State of UX in Portugal report, built from the answers of more than 360 professionals, is the foundation for everything we plan and do.
